When did I compare it to belief in a God? It was used just like FSM argument was used, that there is enough evidence for any other God as there is to a flying spaghetti monster. Like I said I've listed my reasons why people believe in god's, never were they because they are stupid, I don't believe that. Don't know how else I can put it.

You're not getting that evolution doesn't claim that we evolved from monkeys, it states that we shared a common ancestor with apes about 6 million years ago. They split off into 2 lineages, one that became gorillas/chimps and the other human ancestors - hominids. Your view and info of evolution is about as wrong as it gets. And no, there won't be any "planet of the apes" crap.

I've been in churches most of my life, it's not like I don't know what they're for and how they work. It does matter when you can sit at home and do the same thing, it defeats the whole purpose of going, like you said a "gathering"...really not to do anything but socialize and gossip. It makes a mockery of actual religious leaders, the ones who provide a service in their community and someone who is there for his congregation. This will do nothing but create more Falwells, Robertsons, Hagee's etc. who are a laughing stock.

So what exactly did we eveolve from? I mean, if our anscestor is an ape. Or are you saying we are just the bastard offspring of ape.

I'd have to believe something existed before I could fear it. Take out heaven/hell, then we'd see how many believers there would be, I'd guess hardly any.

Our ancestor isn't an ape, we shared a common ancestor 6 million years ago, the lineages split and later became apes and then hominids. We aren't the offspring of apes and didn't evolve from them.

Sure, in a couple of million years, there's a slither of a chance that apes could evolve into a human-like species(which doesn't mean anything like the planet of the apes concept). The species at the end of those lineages(hominids and now apes) are a result of a very, very specific combination of selection pressures and genetic mutations over millions and millions of years. This same combination is extremely unlikely to ever happen again.

I've went to a Pentecostal church mostly, so it wasn't the boring "pick 10 verses and talk about them for 2 hours" ordeal. It's always been a much closer thing, the idea of the mega-churches with arena sized seating has always been a joke to me too...this just takes that to another level.

So what started the human race exactly?

It didn't just 'start', there was several speicies(well more like a dozen), most died out, until the evolution process kept going to where we are today.

To be honest, the Bible did say that God created us. However, it didn't say how he exactly he created us.

And R13 is right because the evolution theory doesn't say that we were once monkeys. We are closely related to chimps but it doesn't mean we were once apes.
